Famous quotes from book : “The change happened whilst I slept. Its details I shall never know; for my slumber, though troubled and dream-infested, was continuous.”
Story Brief (No Spoilers) :
His memories take him back to the First World War, when he was captured by a German ship in the Pacific Ocean. After five desperate days, he escapes on a small raft and drifts across the sea, half-alive with hunger and fear. At last, he washes ashore on a strange, silent island, seemingly abandoned. There, in the black mud, he notices heaps of rotting fish—an omen of the unimaginable horror that is about to reveal itself.
My Experience with Book :
Below is powered by solely my experience with book, zero sponsorship, zero bribe, not even a bookmark involved (forget about free copy of book).
“Dagon” is the second short story by H. P. Lovecraft, written in 1917 and first published in 1919. Inspired by the ancient mythological god Dagon, the tale unfolds as a final confession from a man driven to the edge of suicide. Before leaping from his attic window, he records the events that shattered his sanity.
I’d talk more about the character and discussing what else he sees or does, but it would spoil the whole story. This is why I don’t tend to review short stories, especially those pertaining to Lovecraft. Oh well. When I learn to be more succinct in my reviews I’ll attempt it.
